Wedding Themes With Flair

Today’s modern bride simply isn’t content with the “same old, same old.” Sure, tradition can be fun, but it’s in the personal touches that a good wedding becomes a lifetime memory for you and your guests. What better way to make your big day stand out than with a creative, unique theme to bring everything together? There are many themes to choose from, and you might even be able to put one together on your own. Here are a few ideas to start your wedding bells ringing in style.

Summer Wedding Theme

A summer wedding theme can often be combined with a nature theme, giving your reception a warm, outdoorsy feel. Nature themes can range from animal-inspired weddings to beach receptions – it’s up to you! Try using seashells and sand dollars to decorate for a summer beach theme, and serve tropical-colored martinis during the cocktail reception. If you’re going for a more floral summer theme, try pairing your flower arrangements with summery citrus fruits! Yellow, pink, and orange colors will have your guests longing for the sunshine. As a creative summer wedding favor, try setting up a table full of candy jars with small bags for your guests to help themselves as they leave!

Autumn Wedding Theme

If apple cider, crispy leaves, and cool zephyrs make you smile, perhaps a fall wedding theme is the thing for you. Chocolate browns combined with subdued reds, oranges, and yellows give a rustic feel to your reception hall, and will have your guests dreaming of nature’s beauty in no time! Try using antique lanterns with scattered pine cones to make a quaint centerpiece, and give your guests some delicious homemade fudge as an autumn-inspired wedding favor.

Winter Wedding Theme

If cold weather makes your heart warm, choose a winter wedding theme to have your guests dreaming of holiday magic. White lace mixed with a rich evergreen and mahogany color combination bring elegance to a winter theme – mix in some silver accents to give your reception that ‘wintery’ feel! Try presenting your guests with mini bottles of champagne for a delightful winter wedding favor, especially if your big day falls close to New Year’s!

Spring Wedding Theme

Bright bouquets, fragrant flowers and pretty sundresses all say: spring wedding! A spring theme is colorful and cheery and should reflect your fun side. Try going against the grain and choose linens with a tiny gingham pattern, or be flirty with bright, colorful polka dots. A spring theme is gorgeous with pastel pinks, blues, and greens. Use small-bloom flowers in your centerpiece displays, and hang heart-shaped wreaths around the room. Don’t forget the cake – try serving strawberry shortcake with ice cream, or go creative with a cupcake tower decorated with pink icing and cinnamon candy hearts! As an adorable spring wedding favor, you might present guests with packets of flower seeds for their own gardens, labeled with you and your partner’s name and a cute little phrase that reads “Let Love Grow.”
