Horse Drawn Wedding Carriages

How you arrive at your wedding can really set the tone. If you are looking to create a wedding that feels like an enchanted fairytale or a winter wonderland, then the horse drawn carriage is perfect for you. The old-fashioned charm of a horse drawn carriage will be sure to add to the beauty of your wedding.

The horse drawn carriage is a popular conveyance for brides of all seasons. In the summertime, have your horse and carriage bedecked with beautiful floral garlands. Winter brides can enjoy the soft tinkling of jingle bells as they clip-clop their way to the wedding location.

When you are looking for a horse drawn carriage for your wedding, there are a couple of different types to consider. It all depends on the style of your wedding. For instance, if you are having a true fairytale wedding, with the bride dressed like a princess in a ballgown, sparkly tiara, and dazzling crystal bridal jewelry, then only a replica of Cinderella's coach will do for you! Another idea for the "princess bride" is to hire a coach like the one that Princess Diana arrived in for her wedding.

If you don't fancy yourself to be royalty, there are other wonderful horse drawn carriages from which to choose. Everyone loves the beautiful coaches that tourists (and romantic locals) ride around Central Park in New York City. This type of conveyance would be perfect for a Big Apple wedding. Even if you can't get the permits to have the horse and carriage actually bring you to your ceremony, it would still be fun for the newlyweds to take a carriage ride between the ceremony and reception. It is a nice time to grab a few minutes alone, as well as a terrific photo op!

Winter can be a very romantic time for a wedding, especially if you embrace the season. A horse drawn carriage is wonderful for a Winter Wonderland bride. Imagine yourself in your stunning wedding gown, with your crystal bridal jewelry twinkling in the winter sun, riding in a carriage beneath a pile of faux fur or velvet blankets. It would be very cozy, as well as very elegant.

If you live in a very snowy area, then a great alternative is to hire a horse drawn sleigh for your wedding. Instead of lumbering in and out of an all wheel drive SUV, wouldn't it be much more romantic to glide in by sleigh? Many of the sleighs can be quite beautiful, and would certainly add a nice touch to your wedding.

Most areas have limited options for horse drawn carriages, so it is a good idea to book yours as soon as you have your wedding venue lined up. After all, there aren't exactly as many horse and carriage outfits as there are limo drivers! It is much more special, and therefore also more limited in availability. The traditional attire for the driver of the carriage is a top hat and formal jacket; be sure to ask your driver what he or she plans to wear so that you get the full effect.

Everyone needs a way to get to their wedding, so why not have some fun with it? A horse drawn carriage is a very romantic way to get around on your wedding day. After all, every bride should make a grand entrance!
